Field recordings of 400 quiet spaces found in and around the CBDs of Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Each set of recordings took place over 48 hours in each city.
I consider this work part of a larger exploration of ‘quiet ecology’, soundscape and acoustic ecology.
Conceptualised by Riverland devotee Olivia Allen and designed by artists Kathryn Sproul and Christopher Bartlett with sound design by Jason Sweeney, FLOW gathers stories from the diverse multicultural communities of the Riverland that reflect their personal, cultural and historical interaction with water.
The public experienced the audio as as wearable audio button with headphones that allowed them to slowly circumnavigate the wetlands at the McCormick Centre.
